McGoldROCKS 2025: This Thursday Night!
McGoldROCKS is back! On Thursday, October 9th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, the Salons at the McGoldrick Center on the USM Portland Campus will come alive with a brilliant night of music, community, and pure energy.
This year’s lineup features four powerhouse acts:
- Covered in Bees
- Little Oso
- Neal Ray
…bringing an explosive mix of sound that guarantees there’s something for everyone. Jack, host of No Longer Dangerous will emcee!
We are grateful for the collaboration with Osher School of Music and the Planetarium.
Covered in Bees
A Portland punk favorite, Covered in Bees brings chaotic energy, sharp lyrics, and infectious rhythms to the stage. If you’ve seen them before, you know to expect a wild ride — and if you haven’t, now’s your chance.
Little Oso
With dreamy indie-rock vibes and heartfelt storytelling, Little Oso balances the lineup with shimmering melodies and lush harmonies. Their music hits deep – the calm before the storm.
Neal Ray
Neal (Ray) Grosvenor is a self produced, self released multi instrumentalist, prophet and rhythm master from Massachusetts. Once you have heard but a single song from his collection you will understand why so many people from all across the world, and all walks of life are brought together by his lovely melodies and prose.
A Night of Music and Community
McGoldROCKS isn’t just about the music — it’s a celebration of the vibrant creative community at USM across Portland. Hosted by WMPG and USM Student Affairs, this event brings together students, local artists, and music lovers from across Southern Maine.
“This is what WMPG is all about,” says Annella Linton, WMPG’s Development Director. “Supporting local music, building community, and creating spaces where everyone feels connected through sound.”
Andrew Pollom, Vice President of USM Student Affairs, adds: “McGoldROCKS shows off the talent we have right here in our community. It’s a chance for students and music lovers alike to come together, celebrate, and rock out.”
