The USM Department of Theatre invites the community to a live performance of their first radio theatre production, The War of the Worlds: The 1938 Script.

This infamous radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, vividly tracks a martian invasion through the eyes of a reporter and a scientist watching it unfold. It was so realistic, some listeners of the original broadcast believed an actual alien takeover was happening!

Written by Howard E. Koch and directed by Liz Carlson, this iconic piece of radio theatre is the very first from the new Studio 51/Bill Dufris Memorial Studio on the Gorham campus.  Catch the production: March 22: Listening Party, 2nd floor, McGoldrick Center at 7pm. Or tune in to WMPG at 7pm to hear the broadcast!
