The release, Local Motives #1, includes tracks from no fewer than 27 local musicians, including Grammy winner Dave Gutter and indie rock favorites Weakened Friends, as well as a roster of local heavyweights such as Little Oso, One Hundred Thorns, Snake Lips, Brit Martin, Juniper Ginger, Ella Hue, TheWorst, Whitney Walker, Red Eft, Space Fog, Plague Dad, and Xander Nelson.

It is now available on Bandcamp on a pay-what-you-can basis, although there is a suggested donation of $9.99.

The project comes as the Food Pantry faces an unprecedented crisis: demand has soared while critical funding and supply lines have dried up, coinciding with the most challenging time of year for students.

“The campus food bank is quite literally a lifeline that was already stretched thin,” WMPG Development Director Annella Linton said, “and now that we’re heading into the holiday season and beyond that, the teeth of the winter, we wanted to do something that could help people get food on the table, and this is what we came up with.”
