An Extraordinary Place – See It Soon!
Tom Bell’s award-nominated documentary An Extraordinary Place continues to hit screens near and far this season, and we’d love for you to join us. In a world of algorithm-driven playlists, music is everywhere, yet can feel disconnected. An Extraordinary Place reminds us what happens when people share music not for clicks, but for love, connection, and community.
The film celebrates the beating heart of WMPG – the volunteers, DJs, and music lovers who keep community radio alive.
WMPG in Barcelona!
Big news from across the ocean: our documentary An Extraordinary Place received a Special Mention Award at the Love & Hope International Film Festival in Barcelona! Annella, our Development Director and a few of our DJs, musicians involved in the film and other crew members attended the festival to represent WMPG and USM to share the story of our one-of-a-kind station with an international audience. It was an unforgettable experience and a reminder that the community we’ve built here in Portland is inspiring people around the world.
