This year’s WMPG fundraising theme is Free Speech Has Deep Roots.
It builds directly on President Edmondson’s comments at the University’s opening breakfast about the importance of free speech and the need to create space to explore ideas, challenge assumptions, and engage in honest disagreement.
For 53 years, WMPG has been part of that tradition, giving students and community members a place to share their voices, perspectives, and, of course, music.
That commitment extends beyond the airwaves. WMPG is also a place where students build skills, find their voices, and gain confidence.
That’s why this year’s fundraising effort is about more than keeping WMPG on the air. It’s about supporting a place where free expression happens every day, where students gain real-world experience, and where creativity, conversation, and connection thrive.
