Begathon kicks off on Thursday, March 26th. Our goal is $55,000. Donate online here
The past six months at WMPG have been marked by growth, collaboration, and meaningful storytelling. We completed our annual program reshuffle, vital to the station’s long-term health, sparking new energy and welcoming fresh voices to the airwaves.

Listeners Jeff and Peggy have attended almost all our Freaky Fridaze. It’s great to get to know our listeners.
Volunteers revitalized our music library, expanded live performances, and powered projects like Local Motives Vol I supporting the USM Food Pantry, alongside community favorites like Mardi Gras at USM and Jazz at the Movies.
Our USM work-study students and Blunt Youth Radio participants are gaining hands-on experience and stepping confidently into on-air roles, while programs like Justice Radio, Let’s Connect, Democracy Now!, and Amjambo Time keep our airwaves grounded in equity, culture, and trusted information.
Above all, WMPG remains proudly human-curated, real people creating real-time connection. The momentum is strong, and it’s powered by this community.
Events during Begathon include Freaky Fridaze at Belleflower, a Local Motives take over at the Portland Media Center – Fool’s Last Beg – Begathon Closing Party at PMC
Thanks to our friends at the USM MIST Lab for helping us bring BEG-A-TRON to life. We will be introducing BEG-A-TRON during the week.
