We thank Justine Henry for her work as volunteer Music Director over the last two years.
Justine’s leadership has been instrumental in forging a new path forward for WMPG’s Music Department. Most recently she has spearheaded the monthly Sound Advice newsletter, and has worked to help develop staff recommendation bins (new releases / local music / from the library) that make all kinds of interesting music available to programmers.
For anyone who engages with the CD library at WMPG, Justine’s tireless efforts to reorganize the discs and coordinate volunteers around the project has made an incredible impact on the library’s usability. So many folks contribute and continue to benefit from this massive undertaking and they are all integral, but I’m not sure how the effort would have gotten off the ground in the first place without Justine’s vision and determination.
I am personally in debt to Justine, who’s perspective and articulation has helped shape my approach to the Music Department and WMPG programming broadly. Justine carried out a 2 year term as volunteer Music Director flawlessly, and continues to be a significant presence at the station and voice on the airwaves.
So thank you, Justine!
