The Second Sound: With women and non-binary artists making up between 2% and 5% of music producers, women’s voices, queer and non-binary voices are often treated as derivative, supplementary, or the “second” sound. In each episode of The Second Sound, Robyn and Karly spotlight female, queer, and non-binary producers, diving into their styles, techniques, and discographies, while exploring how life and identity shape music. Plus, our signature Found Poem takes lyrics from each episode’s tracks and repurposes them into on-air poems. Eclectic, playful, and all about the voices too long overlooked and underrepresented.
