SWINGING’ THE BLUES
Hosted by Rick Ashton, Swinging’ the blues will feature the bluesey side of jazz from the early 1920s to today’s releases. You’ll also hear some bebop, doowop, and post op. I’ve been listening to this music for a long long time and I want to share it with you, the listener. Each week we’ll explore a different facet of the blues, from songs about cars or food to off color tunes about, well, you know. And we’ll occasionally dedicate a show to one artist. You’ll have to tune in to find out what is on the menu. We’ll listen to Albert Ammons, Helen Humes, Count Basie, Jay McShann, Ben Webster , Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, Big Maybelle, Erskine Hawkins, and many others. There are over 100 years of jazz and blues to choose from. I hope you’ll enjoy Swinging’ the blues.
