McGoldROCKS 2025: Four Bands. One Night.
Get ready! McGoldROCKS is back and bigger than ever! On Thursday, October 9th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, the Salons at the McGoldrick Center on the USM Portland Campus will come alive with a brilliant night of music, community, and pure energy.
This year’s lineup features four powerhouse acts:
- One Hundred Thorns
- Covered in Bees
- Little Oso
- Disinformation Project
…bringing an explosive mix of sound that guarantees there’s something for everyone.
One Hundred Thorns
Brace yourself for hard-hitting melodies and raw power. Known for their intense live shows, One Hundred Thorns deliver an unrelenting wall of sound that’ll leave you buzzing long after the final note.
Covered in Bees
A Portland punk favorite, Covered in Bees brings chaotic energy, sharp lyrics, and infectious rhythms to the stage. If you’ve seen them before, you know to expect a wild ride — and if you haven’t, now’s your chance.
Little Oso
With dreamy indie-rock vibes and heartfelt storytelling, Little Oso balances the lineup with shimmering melodies and lush harmonies. Their music hits deep – the calm before the storm.
Disinformation Project
Winners of the WMPG’s Battle of the Bands, Experimental, Disinformation Project fuses electronic textures, soft grunge vibes, and layered soundscapes into a set that’s as thought-provoking as it is danceable.
A Night of Music and Community
McGoldROCKS isn’t just about the music — it’s a celebration of the vibrant creative community at USM across Portland. Hosted by WMPG and USM Student Affairs, this event brings together students, local artists, and music lovers from across Southern Maine.
“This is what WMPG is all about,” says Annella Linton, WMPG’s Development Director. “Supporting local music, building community, and creating spaces where everyone feels connected through sound.”
Frank Gallagher, representing USM Student Affairs, adds: “McGoldROCKS shows off the talent we have right here in our community. It’s a chance for students and music lovers alike to come together, celebrate, and rock out.”
