Malaga Island: A Story Best Left Untold

In 1912, a mixed-race community of approximately forty-five inhabitants was evicted by the state of Maine from Malaga Island, located off the coast of Phippsburg. A radio doumentary about this incident, titled “Malaga Island: A Story Best Left Untold,” was produced by Kate Philbrick and Rob Rosenthal in collaboration with WMPG and the Salt Institute.
