ROCC & Recovery live on WMPG – this Thursday 3:30-5pm

This past Thursday the Recovery Oriented Campus Center and WMPG radio featured music, stories of recovery, and conversations about getting support. We were taking call-ins throughout the broadcast. WMPG Record/CD Sale postponed until spring

We hate to do this again but due to the increase in Covid-19 cases we are postponing our annual Record/CD sale until the spring. We are still accepting donations for the sale but unfortunately we just have to be careful with this and as anyone who has been knows, it gets very crowded at the sales tables. We are sorry to have to do it but better safe than sorry! We hope to see you…

Tales of Bells & Drums

This week we had musicians, singers and drummers from West Guinea, Rwanda and Burundi in our studio to talk about their event – Tales of Bells & Drums is an event organized by Ikirenga Cy’intore and in collaboration with Batimbo United and New Moon Ensemble.  Stories of their lives are told through dancing and drumming. We were treated to song and dance and WMPG Radio are excited to be supporting this event in September. Saturday Sept 4, 2021 5.30 – 7.30pm at Merrill Auditorium….

Lou Barlow live in the studio

On Tuesday, August 10th, Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and Folk Implosion) stopped by WMPG for an exclusive interview and performance with DJ Shaxx ( Left of the Dial ). Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Suzanne Walcott, Evenin Sun’s Red Hot and Blues Lady. Lenny’s,1274 Bridgton Rd, in Westbrook, Me 04092, will host the gathering at 3pm on August 19th 2021. Musical instruments, joyful expressions and tributes are encouraged. Intro to Audio Making with Blunt Youth Radio

Calling all Middle and High-schoolers! Join the Portland Public Library and Blunt Youth Radio  for a workshop to learn how to make your own audio stories about the topics that matter to you! You’ll use professional audio recording equipment, conduct audio interviews, and edit your interviews into a polished audio story.
