WMPG Community Radio asks for your support twice each year, and we started doing that on Monday, June 15… But in a “first-ever” for our Community Radio station, we’re doing it all online! You can click here to donate.
First scheduled in March, Begathon (WMPG’s longstanding name for our fundraising week) had to be postponed due to the arrival of Covid19 to our state.
As you may know, listener support is the greatest source of funding for the station’s operations, and we are grateful for a listener community that is always dependably responsive when we ask. And in return, we always promise that we don’t ask for what we don’t really need.
Our building on the USM campus is still closed, and we are broadcasting with programming made by the WMPG volunteers in their makeshift home studios. Quite a difference from our usual very live 24 hours/day programming. But the volunteers and managers have been working together to keep WMPG on the air during the public health crisis. And now, that same circumstance is sending us online for Begathon. New experiences all around!
Please tune in for the excellent, varied programming you always expect from WMPG, and please consider clicking that donate button here on the website. WMPG accepts all sizes of donations, large and small…because every donor is precious at WMPG!
So that’s June 15 through the 21st, click to donate at WMPG.org.
Everyone at WMPG thanks you!
