Eagle, Quetzal, Condor

Monday 10:30am to 12:00pm

DJ Roberto
Eagle, Quetzal, Condor

Eagle, Quetzal, Condor is a show about the future--when the Western Hemisphere will reflect the values and culture of indigenous and Mestizo (mixed-blood) peoples--from the arctic to Patagonia. After 500 years of colonialism and oppression, our people are rising up to reclaim their heritage and their central place in the history, culture, and values of the new civilzation rising from the jungles of Chiapas, the mountains of Bolivia, the barrios of Los Angeles and the mesas of the Four Corners region.

I will play music ranging from reggaeton, cumbia, banda, tex-mex, norteno, Native and Latino rap, jazz, pow-wow songs, flute players and country, to people who mix genres and create new ones--like John Trudell and Joy Harjo.

I will also cover news, current issues of concern to indigenous and Mestizo peoples, plus interviews and panel discussions. You will not be bored.
